Knockdown of the transcription factor SREBP reduced Elovl7 expression, thereby exerting cardioprotective effects. In conclusion, we demonstrate that FH overexpression prevents cardiac hypertrophy in mice by regulating glucose and lipid metabolism through the malate-SREBP-Elovl7 pathway.

The key genes are mainly concentrated within signaling pathways such as metabolic pathways, fatty acid metabolism, and cancer pathways. Twelve differentially expressed mRNAs in the co-expression network can be used as biomarkers and intervention targets for the diagnosis and treatment of alcoholic hepatitis.

Additionally, the role of the lipogenic enzyme ELOVL7 is explored, emphasizing its involvement in fatty acid metabolism and cancer progression. While epidemiological and mechanistic studies provide compelling evidence for the link between dietary SFAs and prostate cancer through NF-κB activation, significant knowledge gaps remain, necessitating further research to elucidate the underlying mechanisms and potential therapeutic strategies targeting lipid metabolism.

Our findings reveal a previously unrecognized tumor-host interaction where tumors non-autonomously reprogram distal lipid metabolism to support their growth. This study not only identifies a novel non-autonomous role of the TORC1-Hnf4 axis in lipid-mediated tumor progression but also highlights potential targets for therapeutic intervention in cancer-associated metabolic disorders.

These results indicate that the synthesis of fatty acids, especially polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA), in GBM tumors may be higher in men than in women. In contrast, the synthesis of saturated fatty acids (SFA) may be higher in women than in men.
