ELAVL1 expression

ELAVL1 promotes glycolysis in nasopharyngeal carcinoma cells by interacting with HMGB3 to stabilize HMGB3 mRNA, thereby activating β-catenin pathway. Therefore, targeting the ELAVL1-HMGB3-β-catenin axis has the potential to be a novel approach for treating nasopharyngeal carcinoma.

In addition, androgen receptor (AR) was shown to be regulated with ELAVL1, and knocking down AR could also affect the expression of PD-L1. Therefore, ELAVL1 can directly or indirectly regulate the expression of PD-L1, thereby affecting the infiltration of CD4-positive T cells in PCa and ultimately leading to immune suppression.

PVL stroma shows significantly lower α-SMA and higher CD34 expression than OVC and OSCC. The exact genomic landscape is currently unclear, and further studies are necessary to unravel this mystery.

Moreover, the depletion of circRHBDD1 notably increased ferroptotic cell death and enhanced RSL3-induced ferroptosis in CRC cells...Finally, circRHBDD1 knockdown repressed the tumorigenesis and ferroptosis of CRC cells in vivo. In conclusion, circRHBDD1 facilitates tumour progression and obstructs ferroptosis in CRC by regulating SCD expression in an ELAVL1-dependent manner.

Our study showed that ELAVL1 affects the regulation of around 7000 genes in the ACC cell line NCI-H295R. Especially the inhibition of glucocorticoid synthesis shows that ELAVL1 may be a new target for therapeutic approaches in ACC treatment since hypercortisolism is one of the main symptoms in ACC and a negative prognostic factor for patient survival.

Circ-WHSC1 regulated the expression of ELAVL1 by targeting miR-382. Knockdown of circ-WHSC1 can inhibit the growth and metastasis of nasopharyngeal carcinoma cells by targeting miR-338-3p/ELAVL1 axis, and enhances the radiosensitivity of nasopharyngeal carcinoma cells.

Finally, we found that the dysregulation of ELAVL1 expression occurred in almost all tumors, and interactions between ELAVL1 and other m6A regulators also existed in almost all tumors. In summary, ELAVL1 is an important molecule in the development of PCa, and its interactions with other m6A regulators may play important roles in PCa progression.

In conclusion, ELAVL1 contributes not only to HBV replication but also to HCC cell growth. It may be a potent therapeutic target for HBV-related HCC treatment.

Mechanistic studies identified that lung cancer cell-derived exosomes activated the PI3K/Akt pathway, and transfection of si-FOXD3-AS1 or treatment with the PI3K inhibitor LY294002 reversed the activation of the PI3K/Akt axis induced by exosomes. In conclusion, our study revealed that lung cancer cell-derived exosomal FOXD3-AS1 upregulated ELAVL1 expression and activated the PI3K/Akt pathway to promote lung cancer progression. Our findings provide a new strategy for lung cancer treatment.
