    Correlation between methylation and expression was generally limited, emphasizing that methylation-dependent gene regulation is a locus-specific and context-dependent regulation. These findings illustrate a complex interplay between epigenetic modifications and transcriptional programs in PPGLs, enhancing our understanding of molecular heterogeneity and tumor classification, and identifying candidate biomarkers and therapeutic targets for malignant progression.

    Sterlet ampullary organs also express Otof (also expected from paddlefish, though we identified one Otof transcript variant maintained in ampullary organs but not neuromasts) and two other hair cell synapse-associated genes, Apba1 (Mint1) and Rab3a...In contrast, Cbln18, encoding a secreted trans-synaptic scaffolding protein, was only expressed in neuromasts and Tulp1, encoding tubby-related protein 1 (required for the development and function of photoreceptor ribbon synapses), was only expressed in ampullary organs. Overall, our results support electroreceptor ribbon synapses in non-teleost ray-finned bony fish being glutamatergic and suggest further commonalities, but also some differences, with hair cell ribbon synapses.

    CAMSAP3 Suppresses Breast Cancer Metastasis and Serves as an Independent Prognostic Marker. (PubMed, Technol Cancer Res Treat)
    In vitro, CAMSAP3 overexpression inhibited migration and invasion of MDA-MB-231 cells, while CAMSAP3 knockdown enhanced these phenotypes in HCC1937 cells.ConclusionCAMSAP3 is a potential metastasis suppressor and independent prognostic marker in breast cancer. Its high expression is associated with less aggressive tumor characteristics and improved survival, possibly through inhibition of cancer cell migration and invasion.

    Moreover, the ProsRISK showed good diagnostic performance for PCA I-II patients compared with healthy and benign controls, and the corresponding AUCs were 0.905 (95% CI: 0.843-0.968) and 0.819 (95% CI: 0.732-0.907). Our findings indicated that the constructed ProsRISK could be a reliable risk stratification model and have great potential for clinical use to improve the precision surveillance for PCA.

    Moreover, the profiling of piR-36026 and DSCAM-AS1 in healthy tissues and breast cancer tissues demonstrates the feasibility of the proposed method in cancer diagnostics. By programming the recognition sequences of dumbbell probes, this method can be extended to measure other cancer-related ncRNAs, with great prospects in clinical applications.
