    Trans-Endothelial Trafficking in Zebrafish: Nanobio Interactions of Polyethylene Glycol-Based Nanoparticles in Live Vasculature. (PubMed, ACS Nano)
    Using cavin1a/cavin1b double knockout zebrafish and tumor-bearing Cavin1 null mice, we showed that caveolae do not contribute to the transvascular transport of these PEG-based nanoparticles. This work demonstrates the rigor of the standardized protocol for assessing trans-endothelial transport in the live zebrafish and provides fundamental cell biology insight into the in vivo behavior of PEG-based nanoparticles.

    Association of thymoquinone-induced changes in PINK1, DRP1, TFEB, and cytochrome c expression with mitochondrial dynamics and apoptosis in HepG2 and HDF cells. (PubMed, Med Oncol)
    The stronger suppression of ΔΨm and PINK1 induction in HepG2 suggests an increased likelihood of activation of the intrinsic apoptotic pathway, while the partial preservation of mitochondrial integrity in HDF cells suggests a mild adaptation to stress. Further studies on mitophagy flux, Cyt c intracellular distribution, and TFEB nuclear translocation will be needed to define the mechanisms underlying these cell-type-specific responses.

    Noncanonical fusions were predominantly observed in metatypical AdCCs. These findings emphasize the value of comprehensive molecular profiling in correlating morphologic characteristics, genetic landscape, and clinical behavior in AdCC.

    Moreover, RAB7 and Clathrin are essential for tubule elongation and it showed that siRNA targeting RAB7 and Clathrin restricts tubule initiation under glutamine starvation. In this setting, we examined the physiological relevance of ALR during prolonged glutamine deprivation and found that genetic and pharmacological inhibition of critical proteins involved in ALR promotes cell death in oral cancer cells, establishing ALR is essential for maintaining cell survival during stress.

    Osteosarcoma stem cells resist chemotherapy by maintaining mitochondrial dynamic stability via DRP1. (PubMed, Int J Mol Med)
    Furthermore, treatment of OSCs with cisplatin (CIS) or doxorubicin (DOX) resulted in preserved mitochondrial morphological stability, which was not observed in non‑OSCs. These findings unveil a novel mechanism underlying chemoresistance in osteosarcoma and suggest that targeting DRP1 could be a promising therapeutic strategy to overcome chemoresistance in OSCs. This provided valuable insights for enhancing treatment outcomes among patients with osteosarcoma.
