The DNMT3A R882H mutation is typically present in a minority of AML patients. Nevertheless, this mutation is associated with a reduced frequency of methylation in the DDX43 promoter region.
This study explored the potential of using blood DDX43 mRNA expression or protein levels, or both in clinical settings as a marker of disease progression in human breast cancer. DDX43 mRNA expression proposes a less invasive method for discriminating benign from malignant BC.
Overall, this work demonstrates that combining both HAGE- and WT1-ImmunoBody into a single vaccine is better than either vaccine alone. This combination vaccine could be given to patients whose cancer expresses HAGE and WT1 in parallel with existing therapies in order to decrease the chance of disease progression and relapse.
