Investigating the prognostic potential of PTPN11 gene in papillary thyroid carcinoma: A comprehensive study of bulk and single cell transcriptome. (PubMed, Medicine (Baltimore))
It exhibited strong binding affinities with VX-11e, irinotecan, and dactinomycin. Endothelial cells were identified as key cells; the occurrence of PTC reduced their quantity and affected the frequency/intensity of their interactions with mast cells. In conclusion, PTPN11 holds promise as a prognostic marker for PTC and is of great value for clinical management.

Expression characterization of the guanylate-binding protein gene family in breast cancer and its association with the immune microenvironment. (PubMed, PeerJ)
This study constructed a prognostic model for BRCA based on GBP-related genes. The model was closely related to the immune microenvironment, contributing to the prognostic assessment and individualized treatment guidance in the management of BRCA.

KSRP-mediated Wnt/β-catenin activation promotes follicular thyroid cancer progression and stemness. (PubMed, Br J Cancer)
This study identifies KSRP as an oncogenic factor in FTC that activates Wnt/β-catenin signalling, suggesting its potential as a therapeutic target for FTC patients.

Multi-omics analyses develop and validate the optimal prognostic model on overall survival prediction for resectable hepatocellular carcinoma. (PubMed, J Gastrointest Oncol)
A multi-omics model combining molecular aberrancies and clinicopathological information was established and proved to be optimal for prognosis prediction of resectable HCC. This model may be helpful for therapeutic strategy selection and survival assessment.

Different expression of DACT1, DACT2, and CYCLIN D1 genes in human colorectal cancer tissues and its association with clinicopathological characteristics. (PubMed, Nucleosides Nucleotides Nucleic Acids)
Also, a significant association was detected between DACT2 and CYCLIN D1 with tumor stage (p < 0.005 and p < 0.038, respectively). The findings suggested that DACT1 could function as an oncogene, whereas DACT2 was downregulated and can be considered as a tumor suppressor in CRC.

CircDUSP1 regulates tumor growth, metastasis, and paclitaxel sensitivity in triple-negative breast cancer by targeting miR-761/DACT2 signaling axis. (PubMed, Mol Carcinog)
Upregulation of miR-761 or downregulation of DACT2 partially reversed the biological process of TNBC and the prognosis of paclitaxel affected by circDUSP1. Taken together, our findings revealed a role for the regulation of the miR-761/DACT2 axis by circDUSP1 in the biological process of TNBC. These results provided new insights into the biological mechanism and targeted therapy of TNBC.

Mir 135a inhibits tumor cell proliferation by regulating the expression of notch pathway in hepatoblastoma. (PubMed, Cell Mol Biol (Noisy-le-grand))
By the fifth day, the inhibition rate of M17 was 50.64% (P < 0.01), and M21 was 25.02% (P < 0.01). In the experimental group, 53.38% of the cells were in the G1 phase, and mir-135a could block the tumor cells in G1 phase, affect the cell cycle process, and then affect cell proliferation.

Identification and validation of plasma biomarkers for diagnosis of breast cancer in South Asian women. (PubMed, Sci Rep)
Multivariate diagnostic analysis of methylation status of SOSTDC1, DACT2, WIF1 showed 100% sensitivity and up to 91% specificity in discriminating BC from benign and controls. Hence, combination of SOSTDC1, DACT2 and WIF1 was effective in differentiating breast cancer [non-invasive and invasive] from benign diseases of the breast and healthy individuals and could help as a complementary diagnostic tool for breast cancer.
