Endoplasmic reticulum stress-related CLIP4 plays a procarcinogenic role in hepatocellular carcinoma: an integrated analysis. (PubMed, BMC Cancer)
CLIP4 is a potential immune-related oncogenic molecule in HCC. ERS regulates the expression of CLIP4, and CLIP4 promotes the proliferation, migration, and EMT of HCC cells.

The signature of SARS-CoV-2-related genes predicts the immune therapeutic response and prognosis in breast cancer. (PubMed, BMC Med Genomics)
The results of our study indicate that BCs with a high-risk score are linked to negative outcomes, lower immune scores, and reduced responsiveness to anticancer medications. This suggests that the SARS-CoV-2 related signature could be used to guide prognosis assessment and treatment decisions for BCs.

Circulating tumor DNA predicts recurrence and survival in patients with resectable gastric and gastroesophageal junction cancer. (PubMed, Gastric Cancer)
ctDNA analysis has the potential to identify patients at elevated risk of recurrence, thus providing personalized treatment strategies for patients with resectable gastric and GEJ cancer. Further validation in larger cohorts and ctDNA-guided interventions are needed for future clinical use.

miR-135b-5p promotes gastric carcinogenesis by targeting CLIP4-mediated JAK2/STAT3 signal pathway. (PubMed, Cell Signal)
This study reveals a novel mechanism by which miR-135b-5p exerts its tumor-promoting functions by targeting CLIP4. The tumor-suppressive function of CLIP4 by inactivating the JAK2/STAT3 pathway is also elucidated. Regulatory mechanism of CLIP4 by miR-135b-5p provides a promising novel therapeutic strategy for GC patients.

Exploration of the influence of GOLGA8B on prostate cancer progression and the resistance of castration-resistant prostate cancer to cabazitaxel. (PubMed, Discov Oncol)
Through CCK-8 assays, we established that GOLGA8B could influence the sensitivity of CRPC cells to cabazitaxel and docetaxel. In conclusion, we identified GOLGA8B as a crucial gene that influences PCa progression and contributes to CRPC resistance to cabazitaxel.

Development of a prognostic model based on different disulfidptosis related genes typing for kidney renal clear cell carcinoma. (PubMed, Front Pharmacol)
This study contributes to the understanding of KIRC and provides a potential prognostic model using disulfidptosis gene for personalized management in KIRC patients. The risk signature shows clinical applicability and sheds light on the biological mechanisms associated with disulfide-induced cell death.

The signature of cancer methylation markers in maternal plasma: Factors influencing the development and application of cancer liquid biopsy assay. (PubMed, Gene)
Our study shows that cancer and fetus/placenta exhibit similar DNA methylation patterns, and some gastrointestinal cancer and lung cancer-related methylation markers also show positives in maternal plasma. This is an important consideration in the design and application of plasma-based cancer liquid biopsy assays.

Developing a novel SARS-CoV-2 risk index to predict the prognostic and therapeutic effects in acute myeloid leukemia. (PubMed, Heliyon)
Moreover, a high SC2RI was less susceptible to mTOR-related pathway medications but more sensitive to cell cycle suppressors. Therefore, categorization based on SC2RI could enhance the prognostic prediction of AML and help identify novel therapeutic approaches.

Association of lncRNA and transcriptome intersections with response to targeted therapy in metastatic renal cell carcinoma. (PubMed, Oncol Lett)
The present study aimed to identify lncRNAs associated with the response to the receptor tyrosine kinase inhibitor sunitinib and transcriptome profile and clinical features of metastatic renal cell carcinoma (mRCC)...Furthermore, a significantly higher expression of CLIP4 gene was observed in good responders. The present study revealed promising candidates for predictive and prognostic biomarkers with further therapeutic potential.

DNA methylation markers for sensitive detection of circulating tumor DNA in plasma from patients with gastroesophageal adenocarcinomas (AACR 2023)
In tumor tissue, methylated copies were detected in all 29 surgical samples (100% sensitivity), with varying allele frequencies. In plasma, methylated copies were detected in 14 out of 18 samples (78% sensitivity) from patients with advanced disease, with varying sensitivity amongst the three markers (AUC for the three markers CLIP4, C9orf50, and KCNQ5 was 0.61, 0.86, and 0.94, respectively). In plasma from patients with resectable disease, methylated copies were detected in 10 of 17 samples (59% sensitivity), although only 7/17 (41% sensitivity) were positive according to the predefined cut-off.
