Prognostic Value of the Expression of Myeloid Leukemia Factor 1-Interacting Protein in Gastric Cancer and Its Regulatory Role in Tumor Progression (PubMed, Sichuan Da Xue Xue Bao Yi Xue Ban)
Subcutaneous tumor xenograft experiment in nude mice showed that knocking down MLF1 IP gene significantly inhibited tumor growth. Increased expression of MLF1IP in gastric cancer tissue, which may be involved in the malignant activities of proliferation, migration, and invasion of gastric cancer cells, has a certain predictive value for poor prognosis.

A positive feedback loop of CENPU/E2F6/E2F1 facilitates proliferation and metastasis via ubiquitination of E2F6 in hepatocellular carcinoma. (PubMed, Int J Biol Sci)
E2F1 directly binds to the CENPU promoter and increases the transcription of CENPU, thereby forming a positive regulatory loop. Collectively, our findings indicate a crucial role for CENPU in E2F1-mediated signalling for cell cycle progression and reveal a role for CENPU as a predictive biomarker and therapeutic target for HCC patients.

Among these key genes, interestingly, ECT2 was associated with increased an survival rate for female patients, whileTNFSF13B could be regarded as a potential marker of poor prognosis in male patients. These results suggested that sex differences in patients may be attributed to the heterogeneous gene activity, which might influence the oncogenesis and the outcomes of GBM.
