Fabrication of electrochemical biosensor with a CD36 aptamer and AuMoS2 heterolayer for tumor-derived exosome detection. (PubMed, Bioelectrochemistry)
Furthermore, its diagnostic capability using exosomes derived from HER2+/HR- cells achieves a LOD of 1.2 × 103 particles/mL, demonstrating strong clinical applicability. The proposed aptamer-integrated electrochemical biosensing platform is a noninvasive and point-of-care approach for the early diagnosis of HER2+/HR- subtype, providing insights into molecularly targeted BC diagnostics.

RYK is a GPNMB receptor that drives MASH. (PubMed, Nature)
Multiple therapeutic strategies targeting the GPNMB-RYK axis-including vaccination, short hairpin RNA, neutralizing antibody and N-acetylgalactosamine small interfering RNA-effectively prevented and treated MASH in preclinical models. Our findings identify the GPNMB-RYK axis as a new pathogenic ligand-receptor pathway and a promising therapeutic target for MASH.

CD36-Mediated Fatty Acid Oxidation in CTCs Drives Immune Evasion and Metastasis in NSCLC. (PubMed, Immunol Invest)
Fatty acid oxidation (FAO) dependency was assessed by lipid imaging, mitochondrial activity analysis, and pharmacological inhibition with etomoxir...CD36+ CTCs drive immune evasion and metastasis in PD-1-resistant NSCLC through FAO-dependent metabolic reprogramming. Targeting this metabolic vulnerability may enhance the efficacy of immunotherapy.

MFN2-CD36 Interaction Regulates Mitochondrial Lipid Digestion in Cancer-Associated Fibroblasts and Promotes Esophageal Squamous Cell Carcinoma Progression. (PubMed, Cancer Lett)
CD36 enhances mitochondrial fusion by interacting with MFN2, thereby enabling CAFs to tolerate harmful damage during metabolic processes. Understanding how CD36 and MFN2 interact in CAFs can provide valuable references for clinical diagnosis and treatment of ESCC.

CD36 as a potential prognostic biomarker and modulator of the tumor microenvironment in glioma. (PubMed, Transl Cancer Res)
CD36 not only serves as a vital biomarker for predicting prognosis and monitoring glioma progression, but also plays a pivotal role in reshaping the TME of glioma. Specifically, CD36 contributes to the development of an immunosuppressive TME, underscoring its significance in the progression of glioma.

Enterolactone and THBS1-3TSR synergistically inhibit ovarian cancer and suppress angiogenesis in the tumour microenvironment. (PubMed, Br J Pharmacol)
ENL has potent inhibitory effects on ovarian cancer and suppresses malignant angiogenesis by binding to THBS1-3TSR. ENL ameliorates gut dysbacteriosis.

CD36 enhances sensitivity of triple negative breast cancer cells to palmitate-induced ferroptosis. (PubMed, Cell Death Dis)
Clinically, higher CD36 expression correlated with the luminal androgen receptor (LAR) subtype of TNBC, known to exhibit a higher sensitivity to ferroptosis. Altogether, these data provide evidence for an essential role of the CD36 protein in the ferroptotic process induced by the saturated fatty acid PA, opening potential new therapeutic approaches promoting ferroptosis in the most aggressive breast cancers.

Dose-Dependent Biphasic Effect of Palmitic Acid on Oligodendrocyte Function: Impacts on Viability, Differentiation, and Myelination. (PubMed, J Cell Physiol)
In cerebellar organotypic slice cultures, PA 25 µM enhances axonal myelination and accelerates remyelination following lysolecithin-induced demyelination. These findings highlight the physiological relevance of low-dose PA in modulating OLs.

Identification of Extracellular Vesicle Signatures of Daratumumab Treated Multiple Myeloma. (PubMed, J Extracell Vesicles)
Multivariate ROC curves revealed a diagnostic signature (MM panel) with a sensitivity 86.4% and specificity 91.6%, and a predictive signature (Response panel) with a sensitivity 80% and specificity 91.2%. In conclusion we identified two EV signatures that may have potential as a non-invasive liquid biopsy to complement or replace invasive BM sampling for monitoring patient response to DARA.

Roles of THBS2+ fibroblasts in malignant transformation of colorectal polyp to cancer. (PubMed, J Pathol)
Furthermore, depletion of THBS2+ fibroblasts enhanced polyp formation but suppressed tumor formation in a thymidine kinase 1/ganciclovir/azoxymethane/dextran sulfate sodium mouse model. The comprehensive multi-omics atlas and complementary data presented here will advance our understanding of the mechanisms underlying CRC malignant transformation and may provide a potential therapeutic target.
