LncRNA CCAT2 role in female-related cancer progression and diagnosis: a comprehensive review. (PubMed, Clin Exp Med)
This study systematically reviews recent findings on CCAT2's role in the development and progression of breast, ovarian, endometrial, and cervical cancers, elucidates the underlying molecular mechanisms, and evaluates its potential as a diagnostic and prognostic biomarker. Furthermore, the translational potential of CCAT2 as a therapeutic target is discussed, highlighting opportunities for improving clinical outcomes in these malignancies.

CCAT2 gene polymorphisms (rs3843549 A > G and rs6983267 T > G) were not associated with susceptibility to neuroblastoma. However, the accuracy of this conclusion may be limited by various confounding factors. Future analyses would benefit from a more comprehensive approach that accounts for additional variables.

In the present study, we reviewed recent literature concerning lncRNA CCAT2's role in the development and progression of different GI cancers, including colorectal, gastric, hepatocellular, and oropharyngeal cancer, its interaction with cancer-related molecular mechanisms, and evaluate its potential as a diagnostic and prognostic biomarker in GI patients. In addition, this study shows that CCAT2 can be applied as a novel target for treatment strategies in gastrointestinal cancers.

Our findings suggest that c-Myc and LncRNAs (TCF7L2, PVT1, and CCAT2) are upregulated and miR-33 is downregulated in OSCC compared to OLP samples. These genes may serve as potential genetic biomarkers for diagnosis and prediction of clinicopathological features of OSCC.
