Our data suggest that PRGs, especially CASP8, showed strong associations with patient outcomes and TICs in BLCA. If validated, these results could potentially aid in the prognostication and guide treatment in BLCA patients.
Caspase 8 aberrant expression is observed in meningiomas associated with their differentiation grade and mitotic activity. Targeted therapeutic strategies focused on enhancing caspase 8 expression and also inducing the overall apoptotic activity should be a very promising approach in rationally handling sub-groups of meningioma patients.
In addition, we observed cell death by autophagy in M. oleifera and T. tuberosum extracts. Therefore, these ethanolic extracts are excellent candidates for future molecular analysis of the presence of bioactive compounds and in vivo studies which could improve colon cancer therapy.
Moreover, high caspase-8 expression was correlated with a worse prognosis in prostate cancer patients. Collectively, our work demonstrates that enzalutamide-resistance is mediated by caspase-8 upregulation and the consequent increase in NF-κB/IL-8 mediated survival signaling, highlighting caspase-8 and NF-κB as potential therapeutic targets to overcome enzalutamide-resistance in CRPC.
