Genomic factors associated with substance use disorder relapse: A critical review. (PubMed, Addict Behav Rep)
In conclusion, there is good evidence of certain associations between genomic factors and relapse to SUD. However, further research is needed to ascertain causality effects of these factors and develop novel interventions for effective treatment and relapse prevention.

Identification and characterization of ADAR1 mutations and changes in gene expression in human cancers. (PubMed, Cancer Genet)
We also identified several samples with high mutation burden between ADAR1 and other genes regulated primarily in endometrial cancers. Finally, we show that the deaminase domain is highly conserved in metazoans and mutations within conserved residues do occur in human cancers suggesting that destabilization of the enzyme function is contributing to cancer development.

Altered methylation of imprinted genes in neuroblastoma: implications for prognostic refinement. (PubMed, J Transl Med)
Aberrant methylation in imprinted regions is frequently occurring in NB tumours and several of these regions have independent prognostic value. Thus, these could serve as potentially important clinical epigenetic markers to identify individuals with adverse prognosis. Incorporation of methylation status of these regions together with the established risk predictors may further refine the prognostication of NB patients.

Divergent epigenetic responses to perinatal asphyxia in severe mental disorders. (PubMed, Transl Psychiatry)
The differentially methylated regions were observed in genes involved in oligodendrocyte survival and axonal myelination and functional recovery (LINGO3); assembly, maturation and maintenance of the brain (BLCAP;NNAT and NANOS2) and axonal transport processes and neural plasticity (SLC2A14). These findings are consistent with the notion that an opposite epigenetic response to perinatal asphyxia, in patients compared with controls, may contribute to molecular mechanisms of risk for schizophrenia and bipolar disorder.
