Meanwhile, this study co transfected overexpressed LINC9137 and miR-140-3p plasmids into sertoli cells, and found that the effect of LINC9137 overexpression on supporting cell proliferation was weakened by miR-140-3p. This study elucidates the role and function of the LINC9137 miR-140-3p-NKAIN3 signaling axis in the development of goose testes and spermatogenesis, establishes a regulatory network related to spermatogenesis, and provides a theoretical basis for studying the genetic regulation of goose spermatogenesis.

Therapeutic Potential of Silymarin in Mitigating Paclitaxel-Induced Hepatotoxicity and Nephrotoxicity: Insights into Oxidative Stress, Inflammation, and Apoptosis in Rats. (PubMed, Balkan Med J)
SIL administration reduced NF-κB, caspase-3, and IL-6 expression while increasing Bcl-2 and AQP2 levels in liver and kidney tissues of rats treated with SIL and PAX (p < 0.05). Our findings indicate the potential of SIL to alleviate PAX-induced liver and kidney damage in rats by reducing oxidative stress, inflammation, and apoptotic processes.

Pharmacological p38 MAPK inhibitor SB203580 enhances AML stem cell line KG1a chemosensitivity to daunorubicin by promoting late apoptosis, cell growth arrest in S-phase, and miR-328-3p upregulation. (PubMed, Saudi Pharm J)
Remarkably, the enhanced KG1a cell sensitivity to DNR after SB203580 pretreatment was associated with an increased upregulation of miR-328-3p and slight downregulation of miR-26b-5p, compared to DNR effect. Altogether, these findings could contribute to the development of a new therapeutic strategy by targeting the p38 MAPK pathway to improve treatment outcomes in patients with refractory or relapsed AML.

Besides, the significant increase of intracellular &lsqb;Ca2+] may also be an essential reason for the damage of mitochondria, eventually leading to apoptosis.

Electroacupuncture at the Dazhui and Baihui acupoints and different frequencies (10 and 50 Hz) protects against apoptosis by up-regulating ERK1/2-mediated signaling in rats after global cerebral ischemia. (PubMed, Iran J Basic Med Sci)
Similarly, pretreatment with SB203580 (p38 MAPK inhibitor) completely abrogated the effects of 10-Hz treatment on the aforementioned protein expression levels. The effects of 10- and 50-Hz EA treatments on mitochondria-related apoptosis can be attributed to the activation of ERK1/2/p38 MAPK/CREB/Bcl-2- and ERK1/2/CREB/Bcl-2-mediated signaling, respectively, in the hippocampal CA1 area at 7 days after transient GCI.

AZC may mitigate neuronal cell death by reducing ROS levels through enhanced scavenging enzyme activities.In conclusion, this study underscores the potential of AZC as a neuroprotective agent against neuronal cell death. However, further investigations including toxicity assessments, in vivo studies, and clinical trials are necessary to validate its benefits in neuroprotection.

Jolkinolide B inhibits the progression of hepatocellular carcinoma by regulating Musashi-2 protein. (PubMed, PLoS One)
Finally, we revealed that Musashi-2 overexpression reversed the Jolkinolide B-induced anti-HCC effect. Overall, we proved that Jolkinolide B is a potential candidate for treating HCC.

Zinc ameliorates acrylamide-induced oxidative stress and apoptosis in testicular cells via Nrf2/HO-1/NfkB and Bax/Bcl2 signaling pathway. (PubMed, Redox Rep)
Furthermore, zinc prevented acrylamide-induced downregulation of testicular nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 2 (Nrf2), heme oxygenase-1 (HO-1), and B-cell lymphoma 2 (BCl2) expression and upregulation of testicular nuclear factor kappa B (NF-κB) and bcl-2-like protein 4 (bax) expression. In conclusion, zinc may protect against acrylamide-induced testicular toxicity, mediated by its antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and antiapoptotic effects.

MNDA expression and its value in differential diagnosis of B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphomas: a comprehensive analysis of a large series of 1293 cases. (PubMed, Diagn Pathol)
MNDA was highly expressed in MZL with a potential utility in differential diagnosis between MZL and RLH as well as FL, whereas its value in distinguishing MZL from MCL, CLL/SLL is limited. In addition, MNDA expression in DLBCL was more frequently seen in the non-GCB group and the BCL2/MYC double-expression group, and demonstrated a correlation with CD5, which deserves further investigation. The clinical relevance of MNDA and its correlation with the prognosis of these lymphomas also warrant to be fully elucidated.

Expression of BCL2, TP53, FOXA1, and GATA3 in pTa bladder cancer recurrence. (PubMed, Bratisl Lek Listy)
Our results, indicate, that comparing expression levels of these genes in cancer and cancer-free tissue could provide valuable data, as patients with pTa BC recurrence within up to 54 months of follow-up had a significantly higher RQ of TP53, GATA3, and FOXA1 when compared to pTa BC patients without recurrence (Tab. 2, Fig. 8, Ref. 54).
