ICA reversed this autophagic effect, while rapamycin enhanced ICA's efficacy. In vivo, ICA suppressed tumor growth and promoted autophagy and apoptosis in mice. Icariin induces autophagy and apoptosis in HCC cells via the β-catenin signaling pathway mediated by lncRNA LOXL1-AS1, offering a novel approach to HCC clinical management.

Long noncoding RNA LINC01106 promotes lung adenocarcinoma progression via upregulation of autophagy. (PubMed, Oncol Res)
The silencing of LINC01106 in LUAD cells inhibited autophagy, and cell proliferation, and promoted apoptosis, which all were effectively reversed by ATG5 overexpression. Overall, LINC01106, transcriptionally activated by TEAD4, interacts with TAF15 to promote the stability of TEAD4 and upregulates the expression of ATGs, promoting malignancy of LUAD cells.

NOD-like receptor X1 promotes autophagy and inactivates NLR family pyrin domain containing 3 inflammasome signaling by binding autophagy-related gene 5 to alleviate cerebral ischemia/reperfusion-induced neuronal injury. (PubMed, J Neuropathol Exp Neurol)
These results indicate that NLRX1 promotes autophagy and inactivates NLRP3 inflammasome signaling by binding ATG5 in experimental cerebral ischemia. These data may help the development of novel therapeutic strategies for ischemic stroke.

A combination of large-spot low-fluence 1064-nm and fractional 1064-nm picosecond lasers proved more effective and safer. It inhibits melanin production, downregulates the PI3K/AKT/mTOR pathway, enhances melanocyte autophagy and accelerates melanin metabolism, thereby reducing melanin content.

Let-7a-3p overexpression increases chemosensitivity to carmustine and synergistically promotes autophagy and suppresses cell survival in U87MG glioblastoma cancer cells. (PubMed, Naunyn Schmiedebergs Arch Pharmacol)
Moreover, the combination therapy decreased the ability of U87MG to form colonies through downregulating CD-44. In conclusion, our work suggests that combining let-7a-3p replacement therapy with carmustine treatment could be considered a promising strategy in treatment and can increase efficiency of glioblastoma chemotherapy.

In conclusion, C. perfringens α toxin challenge decreased body weight gain, impaired immune function, antioxidant capacity and intestinal health, and induced PLCγ1/AMPK/mTOR pathway-mediated autophagy. The recommended intraperitoneal injection dose for moderate injury was 0.1 U/kg of body weight and the recommended sampling time was 3 h p.i. in broiler chickens.
