Pae can serve as an effective, low-toxicity, multi-targeted drug targeting ACSS2 and glycolysis. It activates autophagy through the ACSS2/SIRT1/ATG5/ATG2B deacetylation signalling cascade, thereby exerting anti-OC effects. Our study provides new insights into the malignant mechanisms of OC and offers a novel strategy for its treatment.

Knockdown mitochondrial transcription factor A (TFAM) inhibits autophagy, proliferation, invasion and migration in human cervical cancer and osteosarcoma cells (PubMed, Xi Bao Yu Fen Zi Mian Yi Xue Za Zhi)
The proliferation, invasion and migration ability of HeLa and U2OS cells were inhibited after being interfered with TFAM expression. Conclusion Downregulation of TFAM expression inhibits mitochondrial function, delays autophagy process and reduces the proliferation, invasion and migration ability of cervical cancer cells and osteosarcoma cells.

Additional prognostic value of polymorphisms within the 3'-untranslated region of programmed cell death pathway genes in early-stage breast cancer. (PubMed, Front Immunol)
Receiver operating characteristic curve analysis demonstrated that incorporating unfavorable genotypes and clinicopathological variables improved the ability to predict EBC survival (P = 0.006, 0.004, 0.029, and 0.019 for iDFS, DDFS, BCSS, and OS, respectively). Additionally, rs6753785 and rs2213181 were associated with BCL2L11 and c-Kit mRNA expression, respectively. Our results suggest that these four SNPs may act as novel biomarkers for EBC survival, possibly by modulating the expression of the corresponding genes.

We also found a few cb-miRs that do not have functional similarity with human and cattle miRNAs but are found to target the genes in the host organisms and as well being associated with human and cattle diseases. Interestingly, a few genes such as NRM, PTPRE and SUZ12 were observed to be associated with Rheumatoid Arthritis, Asthma and Endometrial Stromal Sarcoma diseases, respectively, in humans and genes like SCNN1B associated with renal disease in cattle.

Identification of an Autophagy-Related Signature for Prognosis and Immunotherapy Response Prediction in Ovarian Cancer. (PubMed, Biomolecules)
The autophagy-related signature is applicable to predict the prognosis and immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) therapy efficiency in OC patients. It is possible to identify OC patients who will respond to ICIs therapy and have a favorable prognosis, although more verification is needed.
