IINS Vs CALLY Index: A Battle of Prognostic Value in NSCLC Patients Following Surgery. (PubMed, J Inflamm Res)
Time-dependent ROC analyses and DCA further confirmed the superior prognostic value of IINS over the CALLY index at 1, 2, and 3 years. This study reveals that both the IINS and CALLY index are effective in forecasting the prognosis of individuals with NSCLC following surgery, with the IINS demonstrating superior prognostic efficacy to the CALLY index.

Population Pharmacokinetics of Sotorasib in Healthy Subjects and Advanced Solid Tumor Patients Harboring a KRASG12C Mutation from Phase 1 and Phase 2 Studies. (PubMed, AAPS J)
Other evaluated covariates, including body weight, age, renal impairment (evaluated by chronic kidney disease stage score) and hepatic impairment (evaluated by NCI criteria) were not statistically significant. Greater baseline disease burden and low albumin were associated with lower sotorasib clearance; based on the established efficacy and safety profiles from clinical trials, the estimated magnitude of these effects does not warrant a dose adjustment.

Prognostic Value of Blood-Based Inflammatory Markers in Cancer Patients Receiving Immune Checkpoint Inhibitors. (PubMed, Cancers (Basel))
Our findings confirm the prognostic utility of several inflammatory biomarkers in patients with cancer receiving ICIs, highlighting their potential for treatment stratification. Further studies are necessary to standardize cut-off values and validate these findings across broader, more diverse populations.

Predictive Value of Complete Blood Count (CBC)-Derived Indices-C-Reactive-Protein-Albumin-Lymphocyte index (CALLY), Glucose-to-Lymphocyte Ratio (GLR), Prognostic Nutritional Index (PNI), Hemoglobin, Albumin, Lymphocyte, Platelet (HALP), and Controlling Nutritional Status (COUNT)-on Body Composition Changes After Bariatric Surgery. (PubMed, Obes Surg)
Our findings suggest that pre-surgical assessment of GLR, PNI, and HALP indices may provide valuable insights into predicting changes in body composition after bariatric surgery. Specifically, these indices could serve as tools for tailoring preoperative nutritional strategies and post-surgical interventions. However, as this study is retrospective, further prospective research with longer follow-ups is required to validate these findings and evaluate their utility in clinical practice. 1 3 months after metabolic bariatric surgery. 2 6 months after metabolic bariatric surgery.

Negative association of C-reactive protein-albumin-lymphocyte index (CALLY index) with all-cause and cause-specific mortality in patients with cancer: results from NHANES 1999-2018. (PubMed, BMC Cancer)
The CALLY index demonstrated a linear and negative association with all-cause mortality, as well as mortality caused by cancer and cardiac conditions, highlighting its significant prognostic value in patients with oncological conditions.

C-reactive Protein-albumin-lymphocyte Index as a Novel Biomarker for Progression in Patients Undergoing Surgery for Renal Cancer. (PubMed, Cancer Diagn Progn)
In addition to the existing risk factors for RCC recurrence, such as sarcomatoid features and Fuhrman grade, we propose that the CALLY index is a predictor of postoperative recurrence and that patients with a low CALLY index are good candidates for postoperative treatment. Our study may help select patients with pT3 disease with a high risk of recurrence who require postoperative treatment.

Prioritising primary care patients with unexpected weight loss for cancer investigation: diagnostic accuracy study (update). (PubMed, BMJ)
The risk of cancer in younger adults with unexpected weight loss presenting to primary care is <3% and does not merit investigation under current UK guidelines. However, in men aged ≥50 years, women aged ≥60 years, and younger patients with concurrent clinical features, the risk of cancer warrants referral for invasive investigation. Clinical features typically associated with specific cancer sites are markers of several cancer types when they occur with unexpected weight loss.

Prognostic Value of Performance Status, Albumin, and CRP in Last-Line Chemotherapy for Pancreatic vs. Other Gastrointestinal Cancers-Simple Tools Matter. (PubMed, Curr Oncol)
BMI did not improve predictive models. PS ≥ 2 and low albumin are strong predictors of short survival in PAN, whereas increased CRP and low albumin (mGPS 2) are predictors in GI.

Preoperative predictors of very early recurrence in patients with hepatocellular carcinoma beyond the Milan criteria. (PubMed, Langenbecks Arch Surg)
VER after hepatic resection for HCC beyond MC was associated with a significantly poorer prognosis. AFP, non-SN type on imaging, and CALLY index are valuable preoperative indicators. Patients with multiple risk factors have a worse prognosis and may be candidates for multimodal treatment.
