Survival Rate and Chronic Diseases of TCGA Cancer and KoGES Normal Samples by Clustering for DNA Methylation. (PubMed, Life (Basel))
Based on the public DNA methylation and clinical data of healthy participants and cancer patients, I present an analysis pipeline that integrates and clusters the methylation data from the two groups. As a result of clustering, CpG sites from gene or genomic regions, such as AFAP1, NINJ2, and HOOK2 genes, that correlated with survival rate and chronic disease are presented.

Overall, Hu-MSC exosomal circ_0037104 contributes to the progression and stemness of CCA cells via miR-620/APAF1. In conclusion, Hu-MSC-derived exosomal circ_0037104 sponges miR-620 directly and negatively targets APAF1 to suppress CCA.

Significant CircRNAs in liver cancer stem cell exosomes: mediator of malignant propagation in liver cancer? (PubMed, Mol Cancer)
Our novel exosome-derived circRNAs play a vital role as key components of various intercellular crosstalk and communication systems in malignant transmission. This finding not only provides valuable support for utilizing plasma exosomal circRNAs as clinical prognostic indicators for HCC patients but also highlights a new research direction in exploring the signaling between liver CSCs and the messenger molecules contained within exosomes.

LncRNA AFAP1-AS1 Induces Gefitinib Resistance of Lung Adenocarcinoma Through the miR-653-5p/AGR2 Axis. (PubMed, Ther Clin Risk Manag)
Mechanically, AFAP1-AS1 sequestered the miR-653-5p and blocked the inhibition of miR-653-5p to AGR2 and stepwise upregulated AGR2 overexpression in LUAD gefitinib resistant cells, resulting gefitinib resistance in LUAD. AFAP1-AS1 promotes gefitinib-resistance LUAD cells through a previously unrecognized miR-653-5p/AGR2 axis, suggesting targeting AFAP1-AS1/miR-653-5p/AGR2 axis might be a promising way for LUAD intervention.

These findings highlight the benefit and practicality of a diagnostic testing program to identify patients suitable for tumour-agnostic TRK inhibitor therapies, as well as other targeted therapies, due to clinically actionable incidental findings identified. Collectively, these findings may inform future guidance on selecting the appropriate testing approach per tumour type and on optimal NTRK testing algorithms.

Construction of a prognostic glycolysis-related lncRNA signature for patients with colorectal cancer. (PubMed, Cancer Med)
Furthermore, we confirmed that AFAP1-AS1 could regulate aerobic glycolysis and metastasis of CRC cells. Overall, we developed a glycolysis-related lncRNA (GRL) signature and suggested that this signature could offer a predictive value and identify potential therapeutic targets for cancer therapy.
