Functional characterization of variants in human ABCC11, an axillary osmidrosis risk factor. (PubMed, Hum Cell)
Among them, p.R630W was most influential. Including this identification of a significantly-dysfunctional variant, our findings will extend our understanding of genetic variations and biochemical features of ABCC11 protein.

In our study, by gene/protein level analysis we demonstrated that telocytes may have the potential to reduce cancer metastasis through miR-21-5p in breast cancer progression and reduce EMT transition.

CDX2 controls genes involved in the metabolism of 5-fluorouracil and is associated with reduced efficacy of chemotherapy in colorectal cancer. (PubMed, Biomed Pharmacother)
We further showed that CDX2 directly regulates the expression of ABCC11 and that the inhibition of ABCC11 improves 5-FU-sensitivity of CDX2-expressing colon cancer cells. Thus, this study illustrates how biological functions are hijacked in CRC cells and reveals the therapeutic interest of CDX2/ABCC11/DPYD to improve systemic chemotherapy in CRC.

Expression of ATP-binding Cassette Transporter 11 (ABCC11) Protein in Colon Cancer. (PubMed, Anticancer Res)
There was significant correlation with ABCC11 expression and lymph node metastasis, venous invasion and curability. The prognosis in ABCC11 negative cases was poor because of increased cases without curative resection.
