Overcoming Immune Exclusion in a Murine Model of Cirrhotic Hepatocellular Carcinoma via Cryoablation: Insights from Molecular Extracellular pH Imaging. (PubMed, Res Sq)
These results demonstrate that BIRDS enables non-invasive monitoring of the metabolic and immunologic response to cryoablation in HCC within cirrhotic livers. Cryoablation-induced re-normalization of tumor acidity, coupled with enhanced immune activity, suggests a favorable therapeutic outcome and establishes pH e imaging as a tool for assessing treatment efficacy in acidic TMEs.

Leukemia inhibitory factor promotes human cholangiopathies, and its inhibition improves cholestasis in Abcb4-/- mice. (PubMed, Hepatol Commun)
Cholangiocyte-derived LIF promotes the formation of a pro-inflammatory and pro-fibrotic niche centred on damaged cholangiocytes. LIFR antagonism reverses fibrosis and immune dysregulation in Abcb4-/- mice, supporting the development of anti-LIFR therapies in human cholangiopathies.

Nodosin alleviates cholestatic liver injury by activation of SIRT1/FXR signaling pathway and inhibition of hepatic inflammation. (PubMed, Biochem Pharmacol)
These findings demonstrate that Nod alleviates cholestasis by activating SIRT1/FXR signaling and down-regulating the NF-κB signaling. Therefore, Nod might be a hopeful therapeutic medicine for cholestasis.

Ion Channel-Extracellular Matrix Interplay in Colorectal Cancer: A Network-Based Approach to Tumor Microenvironment Remodeling. (PubMed, Int J Mol Sci)
Notably, survival was associated with MAPK1, SLC16A1, and ABCB4 in relation to patient prognosis. Our findings underscore the pivotal role of ion channels as co-factors in ECM dynamics in CRC, offering mechanistic insights into tumor-stroma crosstalk and identifying potential therapeutic targets to disrupt microenvironment-driven progression.

Green synthesis an eco-friendly route for the synthesis of iron oxide nanoparticles using aqueous extract of Thevetia peruviana and their biological activities. (PubMed, Sci Rep)
The NPs also demonstrated notable anticancer activity, particularly against MDR 2780AD (IC₅₀ = 0.39 µg/mL). These results showed significant enzyme inhibition and anticancer properties, indicating the potential of these green-synthesized IONPs in biomedical applications.

Pharmacogenomics in pediatric oncology patients with solid tumors related to chemotherapy-induced toxicity: a systematic review. (PubMed, Crit Rev Oncol Hematol)
For methotrexate, the genes ABCC2, MTHFR, and SXR were associated with myelosuppression and hepatotoxicity...This review highlights the complexity and variability of pharmacogenomic associations with chemotherapy-induced toxicities in pediatric oncology. While certain genetic variants show associations with specific toxicities, larger multinational/center studies are needed to strengthen the associations and improve clinical guidelines.

The association of ABC proteins with multidrug resistance in cancer. (PubMed, Biochim Biophys Acta Mol Cell Res)
We further discussed that the most commonly used drugs in standard regimens for mainly breast cancer, lung cancer, and acute lymphoblastic leukemia could be subject to MDR mediated by ABC transporters. Collectively, these insights will aid in conducting new studies aimed at a deeper understanding of the clinical MDR mediated by ABC proteins and in designing more effective pharmacological treatments to enhance the objective response rate in cancer patients.
