The histopathological analysis confirmed the aggressive nature of resistant tumors and showed the presence of necrotic core which could be implicated to EMT. Finally, the immunohistochemical staining confirmed the high protein expression in resistant tumor.

Tumor-associated macrophage (TAM)-secreted CCL22 confers cisplatin resistance of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) cells via regulating the activity of diacylglycerol kinase α (DGKα)/NOX4 axis. (PubMed, Drug Resist Updat)
In xenografted models, targeting DGKα with 5'-cholesterol-conjugated small-interfering (si) RNA enhanced the chemosensitivity of cisplatin in ESCC treatment, especially in the context of TAMs. Our data establish the correlation between the TAMs-induced intratumoral metabolic product/ROS axis and chemotherapy efficacy in ESCC treatment and reveal relevant molecular mechanisms.

ABC transporters, especially ABCC1 seem to contribute substantially to AML chemoresistance. A detailed understanding of chemoresistance mechanisms and the clinical implications of chemosensitivity predictors may lead to alternative therapeutic approaches for AML patients with unveiled chemoresistance signatures.

EIF4A3 induced circABCA5 promotes the gastric cancer progression by SPI1 mediated IL6/JAK2/STAT3 signaling. (PubMed, Am J Cancer Res)
In addition, EIF4A3 could directly bind to circABCA5, promoting its stability and expression. Our study reveals that circABCA5 plays a vital role in the diagnosis and prognosis of gastric cancer and may even be developed as a molecular target for the treatment of gastric cancer.

Identification of ABCA5 among ATP-Binding Cassette Transporter Family as a New Biomarker for Colorectal Cancer. (PubMed, J Oncol)
After several rounds of screening and validation, only the ABCB5 gene was retained among the 49 genes. The results demonstrated that ABCA5 expression is reduced in CRC and patients with high ABCA5 expression have better OS, which can provide guidance for better management and treatment of CRC in the future.

In conclusion, this study showed that ABCA members may be related to the TP53 mutation of LUAD. Moreover, it may serve as a potential marker for the prognosis of LUAD.
