Choline Magnesium Trisalicylate and Combination Chemotherapy in Treating Patients With Acute Myeloid Leukemia

Excerpt:
...- Patients must have a diagnosis of non-M3 AML (patients with M3 subtype are excluded); determination of the presence of cytogenetic abnormalities will be by standard cytogenetics +/- fluorescent-in-situ (FISH) studies; additional molecular analyses for nucleophosmin (NPM) mutation and fms-related tyrosine kinase 3 (flt3) internal tandem duplication will be obtained as a part of standard care by institutional procedures...

Title:

Pretreatment Next-Generation Sequencing Is Associated with Response to Induction Chemotherapy in Patients Newly Diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia

Published date:
11/04/2020
Excerpt:
NPM1 mutations were associated with higher response rates to induction chemotherapy (p =0.002). Ninety-four percent of patients (32 of 34 patients) with NPM1 mutations had intermediate cytogenetics. After induction chemotherapy, 92% of patients with NPM1 mutations achieved CR and 3% achieved MLFS; 32 patients (89%) achieved CR after one course.
