This is actually a microcystic meningioma. Thin-walled structures containing grungy proteinaceous pink stuff, not dense reddish material (secretory) or RBCs (angiomatous). Gain of chromosome 5 is common. Great guesses, everyone! (@CraigHorbinski)

Yes - as a bonus I had brain surgery 10 months ago to remove a meningioma tumor that was a little larger than a golf ball. Neurosurgeon said it had been growing for 10-15 yrs to get that big. If not for having Covid it would have been found later & bigger. (@Seussrn1)

I didn't know that. ・Neurofibromas and malignant schwannomas (MPNST) in NF1 ・Neurofibroma and meningioma in NF2 (Note that schwannoma, neurofibroma and MPNST are different, though they can be lumped together as neurinoma) https://t.co/TmuYnWcSmS (@shubababan)

Radiologically it would look extra-axial. GFAP, EMA, SSTR2 immunostains would all help. Methylation profiling would also reliably discriminate between meningioma and glioma. (@CraigHorbinski)

CDKN2A loss is bad for IDHmuntant glioma, terrible for meningioma, and possibly prognostic for IDH-wildtype GBM in our institutional data (https://t.co/VnuX7hamOX). Is there something about it and brain tumor🤔 #noa @AlbertHKimMDPhD @soumon_rudra (@JHuangRadonc)
