    So, if patients with pancreatic cancer have CDKN2A mutation, are their offsprings commonly referred for genetic testing? In my experience, genetic counselors say yes, it is associated with pancreatic cancer & melanoma, but it is confined to tumor & no family testing needed 🤷‍♀️ (@criley_md)

    CDKN2A mutations in pancreatic cancer are usually somatic, but heritable mutations in CDKN2A confer a high risk of melanoma, but also increased risk for pancreatic cancer. So familial risk for breast and ovarian cancers (BRCA1, BRCA2) and melanoma (CDKN2A) should be considered. (@HCCvPDAC)
